The students of Jarrow School, South Tyneside will perform alongside the dancers of Random Dance in the new work Soma on Friday, March 4.
The performance, which marks the end of the highly successful “Find Your Talent” project, follows a week-long residency by Random Dance, starting on February 28. Unusually, Wayne McGregor, Random’s choreographer and director (pictured), will lead the residency himself.
The Find Your Talent Project was set up to provide high-quality cultural experience for children and young people, giving them regular involvement with the arts. Unfortunately, the project is due to end this March: its funding has been withdrawn, as part of a larger package of spending cuts by the coalition government.
The Soma performance takes place at 7pm at Jarrow School, Field Terrace, Jarrow. See customshouse.co.uk for tickets.
