Terence Kohler’s new ballet Helden (Heroes) turns the myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods, into an allegory of modern technology. Appropriately enough, this work will itself be streamed online.
The Bavarian State Ballet’s performance can be seen online, free of charge, on June 1, 2013 at www.staatsoper.de/tv. Reviewing the work for Dancing Times, Jeannette Anderson calls it “a great drama… when the curtain falls you wish it just would not end.” Look out for her review in the June issue of Dancing Times.
