Virtual open day at London Contemporary Dance School

lcds-emileholbaLondon Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) will hold a virtual open day on Wednesday, November 5. Using a mix of live streamed and pre-recorded footage, the event will give an insight into life at one of the world’s leading dance conservatories.

Starting at 11am, the day will include classes in technique, composition, cultural studies and music from the BA (Hons) degree course. Choreographer Crystal Pite will talk about her work, introducing rehearsal footage from her new work Polaris, created for See the Music, Hear the Dance at Sadler’s Wells.

There will be two live question and answer sessions with LCDS students. Questions should be submitted in advance via Twitter or Facebook, using the hashtag #LCDSLive.

Zoë was born in Edinburgh, and saw her first dance performances at the Festival there. She is the dance critic of The Independent, and has also written for The Independent on Sunday, The Scotsman and Dancing Times. In 2002, she received her doctorate from the University of York for a thesis on “Nationhood and epic romance: Ariosto, Sidney, Spenser”. She is the author of The Royal Ballet: 75 Years and The Ballet Lover’s Companion.
