The autumn programme for TangoE14 starts with Omar Ocampo teaching a leaders’ technique class on September 10. This class is suitable for people with some tango experience, and followers are encouraged to attend as well. The class will start at 2.30pm and continue until 4.30pm at Saint John’s Community Centre, 37–39 Glengall Grove, Isle of Dogs, London E14 3NE. It costs £15. Call Tony Lane on 020 7538 3852 to book.

Tango E14 will be closed on September 17 (but Rivertango has a free tango class at Spitalfields from 1pm to 2pm on September 17, followed by dancing till 6pm) and then open as normal on September 24. There will be a special followers’ technique class with Rachel Greenberg on October 1, which costs £15. 

From October 8 until December 10, the class will run as normal, with a workshop and practice sessions, costing £5. Then on December 17, there will be a milonga with Los Ocampo and a special class costing £15.

Nicola Rayner was editor of Dance Today from 2010 to 2015. She has written for a number of publications including The Guardian, The Independent and Time Out Buenos Aires, where she cut her teeth as a dance journalist working on the tango section. Today she continues to dance everything from ballroom to breakdance, with varying degrees of success. Her debut novel, The Girl Before You, was published last year in paperback, ebook and audiobook.
