The Place is now accepting applications for the 2013 edition of Resolution!, its open showcase for the newest in contemporary dance.
Performed for one night only, on Monday, April 23, Compass brings together a team of choreographers, composers, musicians and more than 100 dancers in a new production celebrating London’s variety.
The twelfth Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards took place today at The Place, in the Robin Howard Dance Theatre. Members of the dance section of the Critics’ Circle vote for the awards, on performances given in the UK between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011.
The nominations for the 12th National Dance Awards were announced at a ceremony held at The Place, London on November 4, 2011.
Performances of Is You Me, announced as part of Dance Umbrella, have been cancelled due to illness. Instead, Louise Lecavalier will perform a double bill of duets at The Place on October 25–26.
The Guangdong Acrobatic Troupe of China return to the UK this week. The Place has announced the first group of artists of Work Place, its new programme supporting professional choreographers.
From July to September, The Place launches Summer House, a new festival of learning, sharing and performance. Artists and enthusiasts of all ages and abilities will come together to form a community, sharing in the dance created and performed at The Place.
Arts Council England (ACE) has announced its funding decisions for the next four years.
