The second New Adventures Choreographer Award (NACA) is now open to emerging choreographers of all ages. Originally established to celebrate Bourne’s 50th birthday in 2010, NACA will choose one or more winners to create a showcase of new work in 2014. The inaugural award, held in 2012, was won by James Cousins.
Nominations have been announced for this year’s Olivier awards, presented by the Society of London Theatre and supported by Mastercard.
22-year-old James Cousins has won the first New Adventures Choreographer Award (NACA). Nearly 100 aspiring choreographers applied for the award, created to celebrate the 50th birthday of New Adventures’ choreographer Matthew Bourne. Impressed by the standard of applications, the judges have created a runner-up prize, awarded to 19-year-old Tom Jackson Greaves.
