The Bolshoi Ballet has announced repertory and some casting for its London season, which runs from July 29 to August 17 at the Royal Opera House. The visit will include guest performances by former Bolshoi stars Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev (pictured), plus the first foreign performances of the company’s new Sleeping Beauty.

The Royal Ballet has announced that Russian ballerina Natalia Osipova will dance with the company as a guest artist in Swan Lake on October 10, 13 and 25. Osipova, one of the most exciting ballerinas of her generation, will be partnered by principal guest artist Carlos Acosta.
Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev have left the Bolshoi for the Mikhailovsky Ballet, it was announced today. They have signed a 5-year contract with the St Petersburg company.
Frederick Ashton’s version of Romeo and Juliet will be revived at the London Coliseum this July, starring Ivan Vasiliev (pictured) and Natalia Osipova of the Bolshoi Ballet. Last summer, Vasiliev and Osipova were the sensation of the Bolshoi’s London season: audiences and reviews were ecstatic.
