Nominations for the 13th National Dance Awards were announced today, at a reception held at The Place. The awards are for dance performances given between September 1, 2011 and August 31, 2012, and are chosen by the dance section of the Critics’ Circle.
Dance Umbrella’s celebration of Merce Cunningham continues this week, from the company’s final London performances to French choreographer Jérôme Bel’s Cédric Andrieux, a solo specially created for the former Cunningham dancer.
This weekend, Dance Umbrella opens with the first of its celebrations of the choreographer Merce Cunningham, one of the great pioneers of 20th-century dance.
