On July 3, London Contemporary Dance School will stream a day of classes, projects, interviews and performances, giving an insight into life and work at the school.
Crystal Pite’s Polaris, one of the most admired new dances of 2014, will be staged in New York this autumn. Created as part of Sadler’s Wells’ See the Music, Hear the Dance, programme of dances to music by Thomas Adès, Polaris is a huge work, featuring more than 60 dancers.
London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) will hold a virtual open day on Wednesday, November 5. Using a mix of live streamed and pre-recorded footage, the event will give an insight into life at one of the world’s leading dance conservatories.
The Blue Elephant Theatre, in Camberwell, London, marks Black History Month with a dance double bill. In What The Soul Can’t Hide/Harbour, choreographer Heather Cupid brings contemporary, Afro-contemporary and Caribbean styles together. The two stories create a journey of personal battle, cultural difference and finally celebration. The show runs from October 4 to 6.
Richard Alston, Mark Baldwin, Siobhan Davies, Wayne McGregor and Monica Mason will be among those celebrating the 70th birthday of dance film director and producer Bob Lockyer, in an evening held at The Place on April 13.
London Contemporary Dance School has announced international auditions, to be held in Spain, Italy, Canada and the US. Applicants must have a good standard of written and spoken English. Audition places will be offered to shortlisted applicants.
