The Blue Elephant Theatre, in Camberwell, London, marks Black History Month with a dance double bill. In What The Soul Can’t Hide/Harbour, choreographer Heather Cupid brings contemporary, Afro-contemporary and Caribbean styles together. The two stories create a journey of personal battle, cultural difference and finally celebration. The show runs from October 4 to 6.
Choreographer Fleur Darkin has been appointed artistic director of Scottish Dance Theatre, Scotland’s national contemporary dance company, based at Dundee Rep Theatre. Starting this autumn, Darkin replaces Janet Smith, who has taken up the post of principal at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
