The Royal Ballet’s Melissa Hamilton will take a leave of absence to join Dresden’s Semperoper Ballett for the 2015–16 season. She will first appear with the company in the title role of Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon in November 2015.

The Hammond School in Chester will be dancing Jane Elliott’s production of the full-length ballet La Bayadère at its theatre in Mannings Lane, Chester, from March 26 to 27. The production will include many of the work’s famous set-pieces, including the celebrated “Kingdom of the Shades” scene.
On July 14, the Maryinsky Ballet’s production of La Bayadère will be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) has announced its 2014 spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York. Running from May 12 to July 5, it includes the company premiere of Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella, a Shakespeare celebration and a revival of Léonide Massine’s Gaîté Parisienne.
Matthew Golding, currently a principal dancer with Dutch National Ballet, is to join The Royal Ballet in February 2014. His first performance will be on March 27, when he will partner Natalia Osipova in The Sleeping Beauty.
The Bolshoi Ballet has announced repertory and some casting for its London season, which runs from July 29 to August 17 at the Royal Opera House. The visit will include guest performances by former Bolshoi stars Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev (pictured), plus the first foreign performances of the company’s new Sleeping Beauty.
