Principals Alina Cojocaru and Johan Kobborg will leave The Royal Ballet at the end of the 2012–13 season. They are leaving the company to pursue other other artistic challenges.
Natalia Osipova, one of ballet’s biggest stars, will join The Royal Ballet as a principal dancer next season. Her first performances will be as Juliet in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet, where she will be partnered by Carlos Acosta.

The twelfth Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards took place today at The Place, in the Robin Howard Dance Theatre. Members of the dance section of the Critics’ Circle vote for the awards, on performances given in the UK between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011.
The Frederick Ashton Foundation, set up to perpetuate the choreographer’s work and legacy, was launched on October 8.
Kevin O’Hare will take over as director of The Royal Ballet, following Monica Mason’s retirement in July 2012. O’Hare has been administrative director of the company since 2009.
