On October 1, the first ever World Ballet Day will see an unprecedented collaboration between five of the world’s leading ballet companies: the Australian Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, National Ballet of Canada and San Francisco Ballet.

Tomorrow night, Anthony Dowell’s production of Swan Lake for The Royal Ballet will be seen in cinemas across the world.Supported by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the relay is the opening event in a cinema season of nine ballet and opera productions that can be seen in 900 cinemas in 32 countries.
