Diana Vishneva at the London Coliseum

The Maryinsky ballerina Diana Vishneva will appear at the London Coliseum in April, dancing her show Diana Vishneva: On the Edge. The evening is a double bill of works created for Vishneva, Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Switch and Carolyn Carlson’s Woman in a Room.

National Dance Awards nominations

Nominations for the 15th National Dance Awards have been announced. The dance section of the Critics’ Circle, a group of more than 50 dance writers and critics, votes on the awards.

Protests over Tsiskaridze’s Vaganova appointment

Spring with American Ballet Theatre

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) has announced its 2014 spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York. Running from May 12 to July 5, it includes the company premiere of Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella, a Shakespeare celebration and a revival of Léonide Massine’s Gaîté Parisienne.

Last of the Maryinsky season

The Maryinsky Ballet concludes its London season this week. Ekaterina Kondaurova and American star David Hallberg dance Swan Lake tonight, followed on Tuesday by Anna Karenina, a UK premiere.

Sadler’s Wells autumn season

Sadler’s Wells has announced its autumn season for 2011. The programme is dominated by a new Out of Asia strand, with artists and themes from China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Japan and Taiwan. There are also new works from Clod Ensemble (pictured, photograph by Manuel Vason), Fabulous Beast, Rambert Dance Company, Wayne McGregor and ZooNation.
