The Royal Ballet’s Melissa Hamilton will take a leave of absence to join Dresden’s Semperoper Ballett for the 2015–16 season. She will first appear with the company in the title role of Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon in November 2015.

Nominations for the 15th National Dance Awards have been announced. The dance section of the Critics’ Circle, a group of more than 50 dance writers and critics, votes on the awards.

English National Ballet announced today that Wayne Eagling, the company’s artistic director since 2005, will step down at the end of this season.
Next March, English National Ballet will move into Tate Britain’s Duveen galleries for a week, taking class and rehearsing among the paintings. The residency, from February 27 to March 4, celebrates the opening of the major exhibition Picasso and Modern British Art and ENB’s Beyond Ballets Russes season.
