Wayne McGregor’s latest work for The Royal Ballet will have its premiere on April 5. Still untitled, the new ballet is a collaboration with award-winning music producer Mark Ronson, singer-songwriter Andrew Wyatt and fashion designer Gareth Pugh.
Kevin O’Hare will take over as director of The Royal Ballet, following Monica Mason’s retirement in July 2012. O’Hare has been administrative director of the company since 2009.
2011–2012 will be Monica Mason’s final season as director of The Royal Ballet. This is, she explains, “a case of ‘Director’s Choice’ – I’ve included a lot of things that have been particularly special to me, and also one or two that might not appear again for a while.”
