UPDATE Blackpool begins!

Blackpool Dance Festival has started, and the results are in for the first competitions. The Amateur Latin Championship was won by new champions Nikita Brovko and Olga Urumova, from Russia, with Morten Löwe and Roselina Doneva, from Denmark, second and Kirill Belorukov and Ekaterina Nikolaeva, from Russia, third. 

Blackpool in China

Blackpool Dance Festival is to launch its first overseas event, to be held in Shanghai from August 19 to 23, 2016. Working with International Special Attractions (ISA), the British festival will work on the organisation, branding and management of the event, held under the name Blackpool Dance Festival (China).

Sergey and Melia retire

Latin giants Sergey Surkov and Melia (pictured left, at the Night of 100 Stars) danced their last rumba on Blackpool’s famous floor last night after announcing their decision to retire from competition.

Blackpool finale

This year’s Blackpool Dance Festival has waltzed to an exciting finish. As ever, the festival ended with the Professional Ballroom final, danced to a packed audience at the Winter Gardens.
