BFI Southbank has announced a season of dance on film, from Fred Astaire to Wim Wenders’ documentary Pina 3D. Running in July and August as part of Big Dance 2014, the season will include screenings, talks and events.

Christopher Wheeldon’s Aeternum (pictured) won the Olivier award for best new dance production, announced at a ceremony held last night. Created for The Royal Ballet, the work starred Marianela Nuñez, who won the award for outstanding achievement in dance for her work in Aeternum, Diana and Actaeon and Viscera, all with The Royal Ballet.
Nominations have been announced for this year’s Olivier awards, presented by the Society of London Theatre and supported by Mastercard.
