The twelfth Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards took place today at The Place, in the Robin Howard Dance Theatre. Members of the dance section of the Critics’ Circle vote for the awards, on performances given in the UK between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011.
The choreographer Christopher Hampson has been appointed artistic director of Scottish Ballet, taking over from Ashley Page. He will take up the position in August 2012.
Next summer, Scottish Ballet, English National Ballet and National Dance Company Wales will create work and perform together for the first time, as part of the Cultural Olympiad. Tickets are now on sale for the joint performances in Glasgow, Cardiff and London.
