Derek Rencher, the dancer and character artist who dedicated his 45-year career entirely to The Royal Ballet, died at the age of 82 on December 20, 2014. Here, David Drew, a colleague for many years at The Royal Ballet, pays tribute to the man:
American Ballet Theatre (ABT) will mark its 75th anniversary with a 15-month celebration, including historic revivals, new works, a new documentary and a touring exhibition by the Library of Congress and an anniversary gala.
David Wall, one of the UK’s greatest male dancers, died on June 18, 2013. Kevin O’Hare, director of The Royal Ballet, and Tamara Rojo, director of English National Ballet, have led tributes to Wall as a dancer, teacher and coach.
