Pavilion Dance, the new dance centre at Bournemouth Pavilion, is holding a star-studded dance gala on November 7 at 3pm.
The line-up covers a wide range of dance styles. There are two duets from dancers of The Royal Ballet. Marianela Nuñez and Thiago Soares dance the White Swan pas de deux from Swan Lake, while Edward Watson and Leanne Benjamin perform the duet from Wayne McGregor’s Qualia. Musicians and dancers from the Paco Peña Flamenco Dance Company, including guitar virtuoso Peña himself, will perform extracts from his latest show. Classical Bharatanatyam dancer Seeta Patel performs Shringara: a Journey of Desire. Sumptuously dressed in traditional Indian silk, Patel is accompanied by four virtuoso musicians. London hip hop company Avant Garde Dance have worked with young local dancers to create A Pavilion Tale, specially commissioned for the Bournemouth Pavilion. So We Boys Dance, a group of 14 male dancers from across the south west, perform Spring Force, created in partnership with The English Folk Dance and Song Society. Tickets are available from www.bic.co.uk or 0844 576 3000.
