A campaign has been launched to save Wilton’s Music Hall after the London venue’s bid for Heritage Lottery funding was rejected.
The world’s oldest surviving music hall will be closed this year without £3.8 million repairs, including work on unsafe floors and structural beams. Wilton’s nurtured early music hall stars, including Champagne Charlie, and presented some of the first British performances of the cancan. To donate to the campaign, see wiltons.org.uk.
