Four favourite Strictly Come Dancing celebrities will dance in London’s West End next week, as Rip it Up – The 60s comes to the Garrick Theatre from February 7, 2019. Harry Judd, Aston Merrygold and Louis Smith, who have performed in the show on tour, are joined by Jay McGuiness for a 16-week run of this celebration of the 1960s in song, dance and acrobatics.
Jay McGuiness, of band The Wanted, won the BBC series with Aliona Vilani in 2015. Jay said: “I’m really looking forward to joining the cast as the undoubtedly best-looking member! Louis, Aston and Harry put on an amazing show touring with the 1960s, and I’m so grateful to be joining them.”
Harry Judd, member of the band McFly, won the 2011 series of Strictly, also with Aliona. He’s joined by Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, who won the 2012 series with Flavia Cacace. Aston Merrygold, member of the band JLS, danced with Janette Manrara in the 2017 series.
Rip it Up – The 60s features music from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beach Boys, The Doors and more. As well as dancing, Aston and Jay will sing, with Harry on drums and Louis performing gymnastic feats. For tickets, visit ripituptheshow.com.
