Ivan Putrov will appear as a guest artist with English National Ballet next week. Putrov, formerly of The Royal Ballet, will make his debut performance in Roland Petit’s Le Jeune homme et la Mort, partnering Jia Zhang. He replaces ENB’s Yonah Acosta, and will alternate as the Young Man with Nicolas Le Riche of the Paris Opéra Ballet and ENB soloist Fabian Reimair, who is also making his debut in the role.
Tamara Rojo, artistic director of ENB, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ivan to join us to dance in Petit’s masterpiece of love and despair.” Putrov said: “I am privileged to have been asked to work on this ballet and given the chance to touch the genius of Roland Petit.”
Le Jeune homme et la Mort is part of the Ecstasy and Death programme, alongside Jirí Kylián’s Petite Mort and Harald Lander’s Etudes. Ecstasy and Death is at the London Coliseum from April 18 to 21.
