New dance film

Posted on October 13, 2010

The Balletboyz are the choreographers for Love Tomorrow, a new screen dance project starring dancers Cindy Jourdain and Arionel Vargas.

Written and directed by Chris Payne, the film covers a day and a night in the lives of two London dancers. Cindy Jourdain (formerly of The Royal Ballet) plays Eva, a ballerina whose career has been cut short by an accident. English National Ballet’s Arionel Vargas plays Oriel, a penniless dancer from Cuba seeking work as a contemporary dancer. Filming continues in London this week.

Zoë was born in Edinburgh, and saw her first dance performances at the Festival there. She is the dance critic of The Independent, and has also written for The Independent on Sunday, The Scotsman and Dancing Times. In 2002, she received her doctorate from the University of York for a thesis on “Nationhood and epic romance: Ariosto, Sidney, Spenser”. She is the author of The Royal Ballet: 75 Years and The Ballet Lover’s Companion.
