Men in Motion, Ivan Putrov’s showcase of male dancing, comes to the London Coliseum from January 30 to 31.
First presented at Sadler’s Wells, the show explores the history of the male dancer. With a changing line-up of male stars, it has been shown in Moscow and at the Ravenna Festival.
For the Coliseum performances, Putrov will be joined by The Royal Ballet’s Edward Watson, English National Ballet’s Vadim Muntagirov and Yonah Acosta, award-winning contemporary dancer Daniel Proietto, the Stuttgart Ballet’s Marijn Rademaker and Marian Walter of the Berlin Staatsballett.
The programme will include Ballets Russes classics L’Après-midi d’un faune and Le Spectre de la rose, both created for Nijinksy, and Russell Maliphant’s Two By Two. There will also be a new work by Arthur Pita, choreographer of Metamorphosis.
