Steven Fenech and Mandy Ghio, the reigning Maltese champions in wheelchair dancesport, returned today from Rheinsburg near Berlin, where the championships, recognised by the International Paralympic Committee, were held.

The pair (pictured centre) beat the reigning world champions from Russia in the German Classic Ballroom Championship and were placed second in the German Open Classic Latin Championship, which they have previously won twice.

Steven and Mandy, trained by Pippa Roberts, are already preparing for the Holland Wheelchair Dance Championships, which take place in Cuijk, the Netherlands, during the Easter holidays.

Any parties interested in wheelchair dancing or sponsoring the couple can visit or contact the Malta Wheelchair DanceSport Association on 99864 110 or by email on
