On March 5, Dance UK and The Place present Launch 2011, a professional development day for final year dance students and recent graduates. The day includes seminars, practical advice from dance professionals, networking opportunities and a chat show-style discussion session.
This year’s speakers include :
Steven Brett, former dancer, rehearsal director and associate artistic director of Rambert Dance Company
Mayuri Boonham, director of contemporary Indian dance company ATMA
Teneisha Bonner, principal dancer at ZooNation Dance Company
Lucy Field, freelance dancer
Robert Hylton, artistic director and choreographer of Urban Classicism
Rachel Krische, senior lecturer in Contemporary Dance at Leeds Metropolitan University
Andre Portasio, former dancer at English National Ballet
Kate Scanlan, project manager for British Dance Edition 2012
Anja Schall, Pilates practitioner
There will also be stalls for Equity, Dance UK, Ideas Tap, DTAP, DCD and Spotlight.
The event runs from 9.30am–6pm at The Place, London WC1. Tickets cost £35 (£30 for Dance UK members), including lunch and refreshments, and must be bought in advance. Call 0207 121 1042 or email niesha.holder@theplace.org.uk for tickets.
