This month sees some major changes at Dancing Times and Dance Today. We are very excited at being able to offer both magazines in digital format and, from July 1, you will be able to read Dancing Times and Dance Today on your smartphone, tablet or online – click here for details. I am also delighted to announce a new member of staff, Fiona Conway, who joins us as finance director. Fiona, a qualified chartered accountant with a Law degree, has an extensive and varied background in finance, including almost a decade with The Copyright Licensing Agency.
Happily for us, she also has a great interest in dance! However, we do have to say farewell to two special people who have contributed greatly to the company over the years. Tracey Geaves, our wonderful financial controller, has decided to move on to a new job closer to home and we wish her every success in the future. We also say “goodbye” to Mary Clarke, our beloved editor emeritus, who stepped down as company director on June 6. Mary has had a remarkable career with Dancing Times lasting almost 60 years, and like many people, I grew up reading her benchmark articles and reviews in this magazine. She always gave an open, honest and considered opinion on everything she saw, and it is exactly these qualities I hope the magazine will maintain in the years to come. Dear Mary, I don’t think you realise quite how much we are all going to miss you!
