The Level 6 DDP programme is part of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Higher Teaching qualifications portfolio. It is a dance teaching qualification regulated by Ofqual at Level 6 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework. The DDP offers a unique opportunity for dancers and teachers of different genres to extend their knowledge and skills. This two year, part time course aims to develop advanced teaching skills by providing a regulated qualification that builds on previous training, knowledge and experience. This tailored programme is available for learners in the UK and abroad.

Applicants can choose to study the programme as a whole and complete the course in two years, or enrol for individual units that cater to their teaching needs. Furthermore, the course is non-syllabus based, allowing students to broaden their teaching skills within their chosen genre.

On completion of this qualification –

  • UK DDP Graduations are eligible to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills and to access employment in the state funded education sector on qualified teacher pay scales
  • Progress on to the ISTD Fellowship qualification
  • Apply for BA¬†and MA degree courses offered in conjunction with Middlesex University
