Take a look inside the first ever issue of Dancing Times

Posted on March 2, 2012

We thought readers of Dancing Times and Dance Today might want to take a look at the first ever issue of Dancing Times published in October 1910. The editor was Philip J S Richardson, who continued to work for the magazine until his retirement in 1958.

He was instrumental in the founding of the Royal Academy of Dancing (now Dance), the Camargo Society for the encouragement and presentation of British ballet (1930-33), and the British Board of Ballroom Dancing (now the British Dance Council), which codified the technique and controls the standard of “English style” of Ballroom dancing.

We hope you enjoy having a look!
