Posted on September 7, 2011

On September 11, The Royal Ballet’s Gary Avis (pictured) will hold a gala evening at the Regent Theatre, Ipswich, in support of The Hunger Project.

Names currently confirmed include English National Ballet’s Begoña Cao and The Royal Ballet’s Steven McRae, Roberta Marquez, Nehemiah Kish, Yuhui Choe, Bennet Gartside, Melissa Hamilton and Paul Kay. This is the first time that ENB or Royal Ballet dancers have appeared at the Regent since the 1960s. Born in Ipswich, Avis recently became patron of The Hunger Project, a charity that helps people living in hunger and poverty around the world by supporting community projects that will allow them to sustain themselves. Tickets for the gala are available from 01473 433100 or from ipswichregent.com.
