From the Jungle, a full-length theatre performance of a dance poem, where the rhythms of movement echo the rhythms of words, opens for a five-night run at the Victorian Vaults in Shoreditch, London, from May 22.
The cabaret-esque show is based on the stories of migration, identities, home and belonging of women with South East Asian origins, and has been developed from the performance practices of Iban women.
Five women will be performing this new text of stories, integrated with image projection and installation over the five-night run,
To accompany the show, there is also an exhibition of photos taken by Katherine Leedale, which will be on display in Dalston gallery Maybe a Vole from May 1.
