Easter weekend might be chilly, but you can warm up with dance events from swing to samba.
Gloster Jive and Swing Dance will help celebrate the Guildhall Gloucester’s 25th anniversary on Saturday, March 30. The event starts at 11.30am, when Sara and Gary will busk to show off the new swing dance classes, which start at the Guildhall on Tuesday, April 2. At 1pm, they will give a free taster class in the Guildhall’s main ballroom. The regular swing classes will have a new format, with shorter classes and lots of social dancing. See www.jiveandswing.co.uk for details.
Monika of DanceMyWay will lead an Easter samba workshop at London’s Pineapple Studios on Easter Sunday, March 31. The workshop focuses on choreography, turns and styling in samba and Latin jazz, with lots of footwork. The three-hour workshop starts at 2pm, and costs £25 in advance from the DanceMyWay website or £40 on the door.
