Russell Grant, who became the seventh celebrity to be voted off this year’s “Strictly Come Dancing”, is proud of his work on the show – and delighted to find himself one of our sister magazine Dance Today’s “Strictly Legends”.
“When you’re doing a show such as ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, the Come Dancing bit is obviously going to be very crucial, but it’s still entertainment, it’s still showbiz, and that’s my whole background,” he told “BBC Breakfast”. “And I just want to say also that Dancing Times said about Flavia, last week – it had ‘Strictly Legends: Russell and Flavia – putting the showbusiness back into dance but not sacrificing the steps’. All credit to my friend! And that’s what this show is about, it’s entertainment as well as dancing. We’ve had the best time.” You can watch Russell’s interview on the BBC website.
Marianka Swain mourns Russell’s departure in her blog for Dance Today.
