The Dance Show, held at Birmingham NEC on December 3–5, promises live performances, dance classes, seminars, masterclasses and awards.
Running alongside fashion and beauty event Clothes Show Live, The Dance Show’s main stage will present performances, including appearances from the stars of “So You Think You Can Dance”, including Charlie Bruce and Robbie White, and “Got To Dance”. It also has four purpose-built dance studios, where visitors can learn styles from Egyptian dance to burlesque, swing, samba and West End routines. Arlene Phillips will make a special appearance on December 3, leading the judging panel for the Young Dancer of the Year award, sponsored by Spotlight and supported by Dancers Inc, Dance Xchange and CDET. Rambert Dance Company is among the companies giving masterclasses. The show also features hundreds of leading dance exhibitors, including Bloch and Katz Dancewear. Across the weekend, there will be Q&A sessions giving advice on getting into dance schools, groups and projects, while dance directory Spotlight and the performers’ trade union Equity will be available to advise dancers hoping to develop their careers.
