Dance Power for the British Red Cross

credit-british-red-crossDance Power, a gala starring dancers from Strictly Come Dancing to The Royal Ballet, will raise funds for the British Red Cross. Held at London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on October 11, it will be hosted by Strictly’s Anton du Beke, who will perform with his dance partner Erin Boag.

The gala will also feature The Royal Ballet’s Matthew Ball and Yasmine Naghdi in a pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet, the Jiving Lindy Hoppers, Nileeka and The Bollywood Co., Cossackshow, African drumming group Zulu Tradition, the cast of Stomp, Strictly professionals Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara, Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe, Diversity and more.

Tickets are priced from £20 to £80. VIP tickets, priced at £120, include access to a pre-show part with some of the stars of the show. For more information, visit the British Red Cross website.

Zoë was born in Edinburgh, and saw her first dance performances at the Festival there. She is the dance critic of The Independent, and has also written for The Independent on Sunday, The Scotsman and Dancing Times. In 2002, she received her doctorate from the University of York for a thesis on “Nationhood and epic romance: Ariosto, Sidney, Spenser”. She is the author of The Royal Ballet: 75 Years and The Ballet Lover’s Companion.
