Dance for Japan is a 12-hour danceathon in support of the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal. The event, held at Central School of Ballet on Saturday, May 28, will consist of dance classes, workshops and performances, for all ages and abilities.
Each participant will pay £15 to register for the event, which will run from 10am until 10pm. Participants can then watch or take part in as many performances and classes as they like, perhaps seeking sponsorship for their involvement. The classes will range from ballet to street dance, with performances throughout the day. There will also be competitions, and dancewear sold in support of the cause. Provisionally announced performers include Wayne Sleep, Ballet Black, New Adventures, English National Ballet and National Youth Ballet.
