Dance with Vincent and Flavia

Posted on November 22, 2013

squareDance Today is delighted to be media partner for the Dance with Vincent & Flavia app. To mark Vincent’s arrival in the jungle tomorrow, we are now sharing the first of the app videos on our Facebook page. This week, Vincent takes the boys through the basic steps of the jive.

Former Strictly professionals Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace (pictured) have recently updated their popular app. Available free from Apple’s iTunes App store, for both iPhone and iPad, the Dance with Vincent & Flavia app now has several new features.

high-res-vf-dtFlavia said: “We have had excellent feedback from the launch of the app, so we wanted to take it to the next stage. We really wanted the user to be able to track their progress and feel like they are having a personal lesson from Vincent and me.”

Vincent said: “The app also allows people to share videos of their new moves with their friends on their own Facebook page and the app’s – what better way to get ready for the party season?”

The core app is free to download, and includes demonstrations of the basic cha cha cha figures, behind-the-scenes footage with Vincent and Flavia and the new free “track your progress” section, allowing users to add journal entries, videos and share them through Facebook.

Users can then download advanced cha cha cha instruction, together with basic and advanced upgrades for the foxtrot/quickstep, the waltz, the jive, the salsa and, of course, the couple’s signature dance, the tango. Each upgrade is available for £0.69.

Nicola Rayner was editor of Dance Today from 2010 to 2015. She has written for a number of publications including The Guardian, The Independent and Time Out Buenos Aires, where she cut her teeth as a dance journalist working on the tango section. Today she continues to dance everything from ballroom to breakdance, with varying degrees of success. Her debut novel, The Girl Before You, was published last year in paperback, ebook and audiobook.
