As they say on Strictly, “the votes have been counted and verified”… and we are very happy to reveal the winner of the first ever Dance Today Teacher of the Year competition. Huge congratulations to Pauline Mason of Danceworks in Devon, the teacher with the most reader votes, and congratulations, too, to runners-up sisters Suzanne Hancock and Julie Tucker of Keep Dancing in Bournemouth.
We would like to thank all our readers for their wonderfully enthusiastic nominations. It was heartwarming to see the impact a good dance teacher can make. In the August issue of Dance Today we will summarise some of the best nominations, announce our favourite reader contribution and let you know which teachers made it on to the shortlist.
Pauline Mason wins a specially created Dance Today trophy – a cover of the magazine starring her, a feature about her and her studio in the September issue of the magazine, and a year’s free subscription to Dance Today and sister magazine, Dancing Times, as well as a year’s free subscription to DSI-TV, a pair of tickets to a West End dance show (details to be confirmed) and a selection of CDs from Maestro Direct. Congratulations, Pauline, and thank you again to everyone who voted.
