Dance Al Fresco

Posted on July 6, 2012

Dance gets back to the great outdoors with this year’s Dance Al Fresco programme, which kicked off on July 7, with events in London’s Regent’s Park.

The next Dance Al Fresco events on August 11 will feature general ballroom dancing, with a tango day on August 12. Each event starts with a class for beginners from 1pm to 2pm, followed by dancing until 6pm, with a demonstration dance at 4.30pm.

A special dancefloor will be laid at the Broadwalk, Avenue Gardens in the park’s Outer Circle. Women are asked to be careful of their shoes, avoiding heels sharp enough to damage the floor.

Dance Al Fresco is prepared for the risks of British weathers: events will be cancelled if there is very heavy rain, but will go ahead through scattered showers. Bring an umbrella!

Tickets for the class and dancing are £10 per person, with all proceeds going to the Royal Parks Foundation for tree planting in Regent’s Park. The event is free for spectators, but donations are gratefully accepted. See www.dancealfresco.org for details.
