Crazy for the West End

icantbebotherednowphototristramkentonThe Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s production of Crazy for You will transfer to London’s West End, opening at the Novello Theatre on Saturday, October 8.

 

Directed by Timothy Sheader, with choreography by Stephen Mear, the musical features some of the Gershwin brothers’ most celebrated songs, including “I Got Rhythm”, “Someone to Watch Over Me”, “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”, “Embraceable You” and “But Not For Me”.

 

The production is designed by Peter McKintosh, with lighting by Tim Mitchell. The entire company of the Regent’s Park production will make the move to the West End, led by Harriet Thorpe and David Burt.

Zoë was born in Edinburgh, and saw her first dance performances at the Festival there. She is the dance critic of The Independent, and has also written for The Independent on Sunday, The Scotsman and Dancing Times. In 2002, she received her doctorate from the University of York for a thesis on “Nationhood and epic romance: Ariosto, Sidney, Spenser”. She is the author of The Royal Ballet: 75 Years and The Ballet Lover’s Companion.
