English Riviera International Dance Festival

Running from May 29 to June 5, the English Riviera International Dance Festival combines a social dancing calendar with an extensive competitive programme. This year’s gala evening includes a unique demonstration, when current British Professional champions Warren and Kristi Boyce will be joined by their world champion son Glenn and his partner Kayleigh Andrews (pictured).

Strictly Come Dancing‘s assistant Charleston choreographer Scott Cupit is our Dance Today Teacher of the Year 2015. 

Swing for Victory at Kettner’s Lights Out! party

Kettner’s in Soho, London, is throwing a Lights Out! party on Friday, April 24, from 6pm to 1am, transforming the venue to wartime London after dark.

Dance at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival

The Edinburgh International Festival has announced its 2015 programme. Dance highlights include flamenco star Israel Galván (pictured), Sylvie Guillem, Zürich Ballet and Les Ballets C de la B. This year’s festival runs from August 7 to 31.

Dance Today Teacher of the Year: meet this year’s shortlist!

Next week, on March 28, our Dance Today Teacher of the Year 2015 will be announced in the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Five dance teachers, including one husband and wife team, have made the shortlist this year.

Nottdance, the international festival of dance and performance, returns to Nottingham from March 5 to 15, with more than 40 performances in 30 of the city’s venues and public spaces.

Dance Manifesto launched

MPs danced lindy hop with Robin Windsor and Jenny Thomas for the launch of Dance UK’s Dance Manifesto 2015. This was the first time a social dance class had been held in the Houses of Parliament, hosted by the all-party parliamentary dance group.

Dancing dates for your diaries

Dust off the glitterball, sew on the sequins, and dance along to a Stars of Dance Weekender at Potters Resort from March 13. The two-night Norfolk break features special guests from Strictly Come Dancing Kristina Rihanoff and Robin Windsor (pictured). Plus, you can put your best foot forward with dance workshops, demonstrations and Q&As.

Dance for Comic Relief

Strictly Come Dancing champion Caroline Flack and presenter Davina McCall are the latest celebrities to have to join the line-up for the Comic Relief Danceathon, a six hour non-stop dance frenzy, held on March 8 at the SSE Arena, Wembley to raise money for Red Nose Day 2015.
