Bruce Forsyth steps down from Strictly

web square tess and bruceAfter a decade fronting the BBC One show, Bruce Forsyth is stepping down as presenter of Strictly Come Dancing.

The official BBC Strictly Twitter account announced: “After 10 wonderful years and 11 series, Sir Bruce
Forsyth has decided to step down from the rigours of presenting our live shows.”

It continued: “Sir Bruce will remain on @bbcone and will present the Children in Need, Christmas and other yet to be announced specials! Sir Bruce is one of the great showbiz legends of our time and our success is due in vast amounts to him. This is not farewell!”

The presenting team for the new series is still to be announced. 

Zoë was born in Edinburgh, and saw her first dance performances at the Festival there. She is the dance critic of The Independent, and has also written for The Independent on Sunday, The Scotsman and Dancing Times. In 2002, she received her doctorate from the University of York for a thesis on “Nationhood and epic romance: Ariosto, Sidney, Spenser”. She is the author of The Royal Ballet: 75 Years and The Ballet Lover’s Companion.
