“Britain’s Got Talent” finalists Twist and Pulse will be leading the crowds in two charity flashmobs at London’s St Katherine Docks and Marble Arch on June 3. The plan is for the event, Best Scoop in Town, to bring London landmarks to life in aid of youth charity Fairbridge (part of the Prince’s Trust).
Twist and Pulse will be at both sites (at St Katherine Docks at 11am, and Marble Arch at 2pm). To promote the event two iPhone apps have been created featuring “ice-cream based games”, plus maps to the two locations and the video for people to learn the moves before the day.
The video instructions by Twist and Pulse are also available on YouTube (learn the routine here) and have already attracted thousands of views. The video is choreographed to the duo’s debut single “Jump” set for release on June 13.
Alongside the flashmob on June 3, there will be ice-cream for sale, special guest star performances and prize giveaways, with all profits going to Fairbridge. There will also be an SMS-based service to donate to the charity.
The event has a target of £5,000 to be raised, and regular updates will be posted at the @bestscoopintown Twitter account. All funds raised go directly to Fairbridge Centres and further information is available via the Fairbridge Facebook account (tiny.cc/bestscoop).
