The Balletboyz will hold their first Bootcamp for boys this summer. The company’s ballet master and two company dancers will lead five days of intensive dance, alongside master sessions with directors Michael Nunn and William Trevitt.
The Bootcamp will be held at Sadler’s Wells from August 1–5. Each day will begin with ballet class, followed by contemporary technique, learning the latest company repertory and creative choreography. At the end of the week, there will be a performance for family and friends of a piece created during the sessions.
This is a great opportunity for young male dancers to meet those with similar interests, and to take part in a week of classes designed just for them. Participants should be aged 12–16, with at least one year’s experience, though this doesn’t have to be in ballet. Interest in dance and a desire to be challenged are the most important qualities. The Bootcamp course costs £300.
