This autumn, Ballet Cymru will take two productions on tour across England and Wales. The new Beauty and the Beast, choreographed by Ballet Cymru’s director Darius James, is inspired by Jean Cocteau’s film La Belle et la Bête. The production is designed by Steve Denton, with video projctions by Matt Wright and Janire Najera. The cast includes Lauren Poulton (pictured), Dancing Times’ Dancer of the Month in our August issue.
The tour also includes performances of Under Milk Wood, Darius James’ staging of the poet Dylan Thomas’ famous “play for voices”. Under Milk Wood opens the tour at the Wallingford Corn Exchange on September 24. The tour continues until December, closing with a performance of Beauty and the Beast at Stourbridge Town Hall on December 3.
