Auditions: Ballet Bartkowski

bartkowskiBallet Bartkowski, a professional company for high-level ballet students, is holding auditions this May.

Based in Croix, near Lille in France, the company offers a professional training programme for committed dance students aged 18 to 23. The programme lasts from one to three years, giving students performance experience.

Auditions for this year’s programme, which starts in September 2015, will take place on May 23 at Bartkowski Studios in France. All candidates will be given a free professional assessment.

Zoë was born in Edinburgh, and saw her first dance performances at the Festival there. She is the dance critic of The Independent, and has also written for The Independent on Sunday, The Scotsman and Dancing Times. In 2002, she received her doctorate from the University of York for a thesis on “Nationhood and epic romance: Ariosto, Sidney, Spenser”. She is the author of The Royal Ballet: 75 Years and The Ballet Lover’s Companion.
