Brighton Lindy Hop Festival, celebrating all things swing, will take place from April 26 to 28.

Dancing World Record

On March 23, Dave Turner and Katie Walton (pictured) aim to set a new Guinness World Record for a couple dancing the longest distance. The record attempt will raise money to support a young dancing family and for Birmingham Women’s Hospital’s “Tiny Babies, Big Appeal”.

The West of England Open Championships

Galina Stepanenko, acting director of the Bolshoi Ballet, has spoken to the Russian newspaper Izvestia about plans for the company.  

Dance Inspiration

Kele Baker is launching Dance Inspiration, a new regular ballroom and Latin class. Baker, who co-choreographs Argentine tango for Strictly Come Dancing, will be teaching at the beautiful Hammersmith Club in west London.

UPDATED: Bolshoi drops McGregor Rite of Spring after acid attack

Following the recent acid attack on Sergei Filin, artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet, Wayne McGregor’s new production of The Rite of Spring has been dropped. UPDATE: Instead, the company will dance a new version by Tatiana Baganova, director of the Provincial Dances Theatre in Yekaterinberg.
