Ratmansky at American Ballet Theatre until 2023

Choreographer Alexei Ratmansky has extended his contract with American Ballet Theatre until 2023. Ratmansky became ABT’s artist in residence in 2009, on a five-year contract. His new contract extends his role for another ten years.

Free world premiere

On Saturday, April 30, students from Trinity Laban will present four new works as part of the world premiere of Marathon. Part of the Greenwich International String Quartet Festival, the project teams student dancers and choreographers with composition students and string players in a close collaboration.

Winners with atti2ude

Eight wannabe street dancers, from across the UK, were plucked from obscurity by celebrity choreographer Sisco Gomez, to be part of a new street dance crew, atti2ude, at the final of Schwarzkopf’s Street Dance: The Search.

Los Ocampo in London this spring

Argentine tango dancers and master teachers Omar Ocampo and Monica Romero, known as Los Ocampo (pictured), will be in London in from May 2 to 8. During their visit they will be available for individual lessons from Monday to Thursday, 10am-6pm, at the Kensington Dance Studio in South Kensington.

London Lindy Exchange

It’s not long to go before the London Lindy Exchange once again hits the capital! This popular annual four-day dance party takes place from April 29 to May 2 at the Camden Centre, near King’s Cross St Pancras station.

French connection

France’s first-ever same-sex ballroom competition, “Rendezvous in Paris”, takes place in the French capital on June 11, organised by Le Gais Musette as part of the Paris International Tournament.
